The Greekfest Committee and Costa Del Mar are pleased to announce the artist lineup for this year’s U. of Blue Greekfest, being held August 28th, 2009 at the University of Alabama. The show will feature four different performances. Hip-hop and R&B cover group Az-IzZ will open the show, followed by rock and progressive bluegrass crossover artist Keller Williams. The third act of the night will be country/folk legend Robert Earl Keen. The headline of the event will be a two hour set by jam-band legend moe. Matt Eastman of TV’s “I Wanna Go Fishing” fame, will emcee the event, and Costa Del Mar will be giving away sunglasses and other gear. “We are thrilled with this year’s U. of Blue Greekfest lineup,” said Rob Sabin, IFC Vice President and head of the Greekfest planning committee. “The show has a little something for everyone, with a lineup of four artists known for great live performances. This is going to be an incredible show.” Fraternity and sorority members can buy tickets though their organizations and all other students will be able to purchase general admission tickets through the UA/Crimson Arts ticket office. All of the proceeds raised through ticket sales of U. of Blue Greekfest will go to support The Billfish Foundation, a program that works to return billfish populations worldwide to a healthy level of abundance, and Magic Moments, a non-profit organization that grants non-medical wishes for seriously ill children in Alabama."
