KICK PLASTIC

We’ve seen an increasing amount of marine plastic pollution on our adventures. Plastic is not only building up our landfills, but it’s finding its way into our waterways and oceans at an unprecedented rate. Kick Plastic is an initiative launched by Costa in 2015 to help reduce the amount of plastic we use as a brand and to mobilize a movement to encourage others to cut back on the amount of single-use plastic they use as well.

Compete + Conserve

Costa's Compete + Conserve contingency program provides competitive bass anglers with the opportunity to win money during tournaments, with a portion of the proceeds having to go to a conservation organization of the winner’s choice. With over 600 participants to date, this fast-growing program is making an impact in the bass community.

Costa 5 Rivers

The Trout Unlimited Costa 5 Rivers program is a network of more than 100 Trout Unlimited-affiliated college fishing clubs around the country focused on conservation. As the capstone of the Trout Unlimited Headwaters Youth Program, these clubs seek to engage current and fly fishers-to-be on their campuses nationwide.

OUR PARTNERS

We partner with mission-aligned organizations to help drive awareness of critical issues affecting our watery world.

PRODUCTS WITH PURPOSE

We recognize that every product we make has an environmental footprint.
We continue to search for the most durable, innovative and responsible materials available for crafting our gear.

THE UNTANGLED COLLECTION

Discarded fishing nets are the most harmful form of plastic pollution in our oceans. In partnership with Bureo, we’re changing that. Made of either 97% or 100% recycled fishing nets, our Untangled collection comes in a variety of lifestyle and performance styles.

BIO-BASED RESIN FRAMES

In 2016, Costa introduced a new high-performing bio-based material partially derived from the castor oil plant. Costa Bio-Resin has a smaller carbon footprint than traditional petroleum-sourced nylon, and because it's derived from a plant, contributes to carbon offset. Costa is an industry leader in converting 100% of our nylon frames to a bio-based resin.

RESPONSIBLE APPAREL

Costa has immense opportunities to infuse a more responsible product message in our apparel and accessories categories. All our headwear features a visor board made from 70% or more recycled materials, and we continue to explore the use of new performance materials such as Repreve® (fabric made from recycled water bottles) in our apparel.
