BLACKFIN is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 122.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sunglasses I've ever owned! I had another pair of Costa del Mar glasses that needed a repair. I sent them in and was told they couldn't be fixed but I could choose another pair! I have extremely sensitive eyes and was guided by a very knowledgeable associate- ended up buying "men's" glasses for the greatest coverage. Costa del Mar is fantastic- where can you find such an incredible warranty AND such helpful customer service these days? Unfortunately, my Blackfins were stolen from my hotel room in New Orleans on Christmas Day. I'm back wearing cheap glasses until I can ask for a new pair for my July birthday.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RUBBER SEPARATING FROM FRAME!!!! AGAIN!!!!! First I would like to say I have been a huge Costa fan for the last 14 years. The 580G lenses outperform the rest and I don't buy anything else. With that being said - I HAVE HAD THESE BLACKFINS FOR A YEAR AND A HALF, AND I AM SENDING THEM IN FOR THE 3RD TIME! I currently own 5 pairs of Costas (many more over my lifetime) and I have not had any problems with the other 4. I do not keep them in my car, I have not used anything other than water to clean them. There is clearly a problem with the design, or it was someone's first day on the job assembling them. I am extremely disappointed in this frame. Unfortunately for me these are my favorite fishing glasses they fit me very well, so I feel stuck. With the cost related to shipping, shipping insurance, and what Costa charges to do warranty repair I could have bought a new pair of glasses. I sincerely hope this is not a sign of what Costa Del Mar has become. Unless they fix the design, or craftsmanship of this frame - DO NOT BUY!

Hi, My wife purchased a pair of Blackfins for me about a year ago and the rubber portion is falling off. Is this covered under the warranty?  Also I have the 580G and the lens is scratched. Is that also covered?

Asked by: Reny
Hi! Our repair reps will need to assess your shades, but the rubber issue is a known defect that is covered under warranty. Scratched lenses are not covered, but our repair reps can replace them for a fee. It is $89 for 580G lenses.

Hi. I was wondering what color lenes are the best for both offshore and inshore fishing off of a boat?

Asked by: Moormansmarine
Hi! Great question. Blue mirror lenses are best for bright, full-sun situations on the open water and offshore. Green mirror lenses enhance vision and contrast for fishing inshore and on flats.

I'm planning on purchasing a pair of blackfins and I'm wondering if I could specify the color of the lenses but still have the effect of another pair of lenses. For example, lenses that appear to be blue but when looking through them are actually green.

I am looking to purchase a pair of the blackfins, I will use them while flying to do aerial inspections, what color lense would be most recommended for that application? Leaning green mirror, but can't quite decide, even with the use of the lense guide.

Asked by: AirportMick
Hi! Blue mirror lenses are best for bright, full-sun situations, green mirror enhances vision and contrast, gray silver mirror is great for everyday activities, and copper cuts the glare for eye comfort.

My wife just purchased a pair of the blackfin for me, so if the rubber falls off is that covered under you warranty or am I just out a pair of sun glasses

Asked by: steven01
Hi! We recently retooled our shades to fix the rubber issue, so the rubber should not fall off.

Will the Blackfin ever come in a shiny black option? I'm deciding between Cat Cay and Blackfin but am afraid of the grey portion along the bottom of the Frame and legs detaching vs one solid frame like cat cay

Asked by: EMP1217
Hi! We recently retooled our shades to fix the rubber issue, so the bottom should not detach.
